Diet and exercise to treat Psoriasis.

In the previous post on psoriasis, you have read about hair and skin care tips to manage psoriasis.  In this post, you can learn about some eating and fitness habits that help you to manage psoriasis.
 
What to eat:
  Flax seeds, locally known as alsi is a rich source of Omega 3 fatty acids which modify the chain of events that cause psoriasis.  Roast and grind the seeds.  Take two spoons of flax powder with water in the morning before breakfast and in the evening before dinner. 

What not to Eat: avoid red meat.  Red meat contains a natural inflammatory substance known as arachidonic acid that stimulates psoriasis inflammation.  Stay vegetarian.

Learn to relax:  Stress can trigger psoriasis.  It is important to practice deep breathing exercises and Yoga to combat stress.  Avoid any anxiety causing activities.
 
Water is boon: increase intake of water.  Waiter hydrates your body and keeps reduces flaring of psoriasis scales.

Exercise for psoriasis joints:  Stiffness of the joints is often exacerbated in winter.  By exercising regularly, you can alleviate joint stiffness. Here are some simple exercises which you need to do 10 times a day to get maximum relief from stiff joints.
• Rotate each wrist clockwise and anti-clockwise
• Clench and unclench your fingers.
• Rotate each knee clockwise and anti-clockwise.

Do not exercise if you are suffering from acute joint pains due to psoriasis arthritis.

By altering your lifestyle slightly and include dietary and fitness regimes in your daily routine, you can manage symptoms of psoriasis effectively.
